This dialog box shows the application information you requested in the View Application Setup dialog box. The information appears in the following order:
Using the scroll bar, browse through the information provided. You can also print the application using the Print button, search for specific information using the Find button, and select the fonts to print and display the information using the Font button.
For each Output Format defined in the application, these items appear.
Record format: - the name given to the Output Record Format when it was created, Creating a New Output Format.
Num - the order of the fields in the output record format. The first is always the NCS Header, the second, optionally, is the Image Header, and the last is always a carriage return/line feed - CR/LF. Beginning with number two (or number three if an Image Header is included), the list shows the output fields in the application, in the order they are defined.
Field name - the name of the field.
Field type - the type of the field: Reserved, Alphanumeric, Numeric, 1 digit item, 2 digit item, Date, or Evaluate.
Length - the length of the field, number of characters.
Start - the output record location of the first character in the field.
End - the output record location of the last character in the field.
Attributes - if any attributes were defined, they are listed here:

In addition, "Archived" or "Part. Archived" is listed if all or some of the grids in the field will be archived during post-scan archiving.
NOTE: See iNAME Configuration - Images to Archive Definition Screen for information about grids that are archived during scan-time archiving.
System Filler: # bytes - all record formats are the same size, determined by the longest record defined. For each record shorter than the longest, the number of bytes used to make the record the same size as the longest size is listed. These pad characters are inserted as spaces at the end of the record. The record that has 0 bytes listed is the longest.

For each Document defined in the application, these items appear:
Document - the name given to the Document when it was created, New Document dialog box and the number assigned to it.
Sequence check - For booklets, whether sequential or ascending sequence checking is defined. For single-sheet documents, this is None. See New Document or Select Document.
Number of sheets - Total number of sheets in the document.
Record format - the name of the Output Record Format used for this document. See New Output Format or Select Output Format.
Archive index fields (For Image Scanners Only) - the name of each field for which an archive index entry was selected. See Archive Indices dialog. None indicates no fields were selected to have an entry in the archive index file.
Sheet n of n - identifies each individual sheet of the document. See New Document or Select Document.
Cells - total number of cells (response positions) across one timing mark, on the X axis of the form.
Grids - total number of grids defined for this document.
Tracks - number of timing marks on Top/Bottom of this sheet, defined in New Document or Select Document.
Sheet thickness - sheet thickness as defined in New Document or Select Document.
Sheet image data (For Image Scanners Only) - most items listed are from the Image Clips dialog.
Paper size - horizontal and vertical dimensions in inches.
Top side background form image file - the name of the background form image TIFF file for the top side of the sheet.
Bottom side background form image file - the name of the background form image TIFF file for the bottom side of the sheet.
Background Form Image Light Background Fix - enabled or disabled.
Background Form Image Remove Black - enabled or disabled.
Top Side Dynamic Threshold Type - from the Select Document dialog.
Bottom Side Dynamic Threshold Type - from the Select Document dialog.
If Clipping Mode = Whole Sheet in Image Clips dialog, additional full-page clip information about grayscale/bitone, clip compression type, Dynamic Threshold Data Type for Bitone Clips, Bitone Edge Contrast Enhancement, Background Offset for Grayscale Clips is shown.
Form ID mark locations - Cell number, Timing mark number, Top or Bottom of sheet, Black or White.
Skew Mark locations - Cell number, Timing mark number, Top or Bottom of sheet.
EZData Scanner Bias Bar - Timing mark number, Top of sheet.
Grid - a number indicating the order in which the grid was created.
Type - the type of grid. This includes Alphanumeric; Alphabetic, no space; Hardware bar code n; BCD; BCD w/parity; Binary; Binary (Scoring); Binary w/parity; Graybox; ICR/OCR Graybox; Literal; Litho-code; Numeric; One digit response; Software bar code, and Two digit response. See Grid Types.
Direction - For an OMR grid, the grid Orientation: Horizontal or Vertical; For a graybox, the Cutoff #; and for a software bar code grid, the grid Orientation: Horizontal, Vertical, or Any.
SX - starting position of X axis.
EX - ending position of X axis.
IX - increment used for spacing of response positions in X axis.
NOTE: Increment X does not apply if the grid type is standard graybox or ICR/OCR graybox. No value is shown.
SY - starting position of Y axis.
EY - ending position of Y axis.
IY - increment used for spacing of response positions in Y axis.
NOTE: Increment Y does not apply if the grid type is standard graybox or ICR/OCR graybox. No value is shown.
Side - side of sheet grid is located; 1 = Top, 2 = Bottom.
NOTE: This is the side on which the grid evaluate region is located; the side on which the grid clip region is located is not displayed.
Fld - field number this grid is appended to, see Record Format, Num, above.
Pos - starting position within the field, for this grid.
Len - number of characters produced by this grid.
Mark Style - For an OMR grid, the format of the OMR responses used in the grid: Bubble, Check box, or Tick mark. For a hardware or software bar code grid: Bar code.
Clip (For Image Scanners Only) - under each grid Type column, there is an entry describing the associated image clip for the specific grid. This area contains a clip number, the starting X and Y positions, the ending X and Y positions, compression type, rotation, Background Offset, whether the clip will be post-scan archived, and the File Name Suffix for the clip. The clip compression, rotation, and Background Offset is from the Image Clips dialog if the whole-sheet clip is used, or from the Clip Attributes dialog if sparse (individual) clips are used. The post-scan clip archive and File Name Suffix is from the Clip Attributes dialog.
Bar code type - For a software bar code grid, the possible formats, including Code 39, Code 128, Code 25, UPC/EAN, or PDF-417.
Max skew - For a software bar code grid, the maximum Allowed skew, in degrees.
If you have installed the RealTime Character Recognition (RTCR) optional component, this section is included. If no grayboxes have ICR/OCR resolution defined, this section will be omitted from the display. If RTCR is not installed but the application has ICR/OCR grayboxes defined, this section will display only the grid ID and engine name.
For every graybox that has ICR/OCR resolution defined, these items appear:
Grid ID: a number indicating the order in which the grid was created; corresponds to the grid number in Document Parameters, above. For each ICR/OCR grid listed, the following items appear:
Recognition Engine – RTCR-name of the engine installed with the optional component. RTCR-NestorReader.
Print Settings – this lists what was defined in the ICR/OCR Parameters Print dialog.
Print Type – Hand Print, Machine Print, or Mixed Hand and Machine Print.
Font – Machine Font or OCR-A. Only displayed if Print Type is Machine Print.
Geometry – Unknown, Character, Word, Line, Multiple Lines.
CPI – Characters Per Inch. Only displayed if Print Type is Hand Print.
Constrained – Yes or No. Only displayed if Print Type is Hand Print.
First Character Box at Edge of Clip – Yes or No. Only displayed if Print Type is Hand Print and Constrained is Yes.
Content – this lists what was defined in the ICR/OCR Parameters Content dialog.
Country Language – US English or Japanese.
Customize – Yes or No.
Character Set – list of exactly which alphabetic characters, numbers, and symbols appear in the Characters list.
Punctuation Present – Yes or No.
Context Check – Yes or No.
Dictionary Lookup – Yes or No.
Dictionary Name – Only displayed if Dictionary Lookup is Yes.
Lookup Mode – Assist or Closest Match. Only displayed if Dictionary Lookup is Yes.
Output – this lists what was defined in the ICR/OCR Parameters Output dialog.
Min Char Confidence – Minimum Character Confidence, 0 - 100.
Mod 10 Check – Yes or No.
Suppress Punctuation – Yes or No.
Justification – Left Justify, Right Justify.
Fill – Space Fill, Zero Fill. Only displayed if Justification is Left Justify or Right Justify.
Image Processing Parameters – this lists what was defined in the ICR/OCR Parameters Image Processing Parameters dialog.
Bitone Conversion Type – Automatic or Manual.
Edge Contrast Adjustment – Yes or No.
Noise Max Width – 0 – 10.
Noise Max Heigth – 0 – 10.
Noise Max Area – 0 – 50.
Character Repair Threshold – 0 - 100.
Character Repair Segmentation Effort – Low or High.
Character Repair Fattening Increment – 1, 2, or 3.
Remove Long Lines – Yes or No.
Long Line Length – 0 – 1000. Only displayed if Remove Long Lines is Yes.
Maximum Line Gap – 0 – 10. Only displayed if Remove Long Lines is Yes.
For every custom translate table, these items appear:
Table Number and Name - the number is assigned according to the order in which it was created, beginning with number 11. The name is what was used when the table was created.
Length - the number of characters for each translate table entry.
Reference count - the number of times this table is used in grid definitions for all documents in the application.
Response/Translate String entries - Each response in the grid is listed, followed by the translate string associated with it. The Omit and Multiple response translate strings are listed first.
NOTE: The time required to open and close View Application is affected by the number of translate tables and the number of entries per translate table in your application. Very large numbers of either will require additional time.
This describes what was defined in the Document Sequence dialog box regarding which document(s) can be first, and which ones may and may not follow others. If there are no restrictions on document sequence, this states "There is no sequence information for this application."
Application Wide Settings - This lists settings currently defined in the Application Settings dialog box.
Release for scanning - Yes or No, depending on if this is checked in the dialog box.
User exit program name - If a name is defined in the dialog box, it appears. If not, None.
Inverted transport printing - Yes or No, depending on if this is checked in the dialog box.
Limit Bitone Dynamic Threshold (For Image Scanners Only) - Yes or No, depending on if this is checked in the dialog box.
Scanner Read Mode (For Image Scanners Only) - Provides the read mode in scanner speed and image resolution parameters.
Light Source - Infrared (pencil read) or Red (Ink read).
Archive Image Scaling (For Image Scanners Only) - None, 200 DPI, 240 DPI, 300 DPI, 400 DPI, or 600 DPI, depending on the option selected in the Application Settings dialog box.
Enable iNAME - Never, Before User Exits, or After User Exits.
Enabled Image (For Image Scanners Only) - Top/Bottom, Top Only, or None, depending on the option selected in the dialog box.
Read cell spacing - There are two read cell spacing groups:
OMR From Image (For Image Scanners Only) - .166, .166 (48 cell), .200, offset .200, .200 line read, or .300 line read, depending on the option selected in the dialog box.
OMR From Scanner - .166, .200, offset .200, .200 line read, or .300 line read, depending on the option selected in the dialog box.
NCS Header Translation Sentinel: Visible character defined or Disabled.
ScanFlex(For Image Scanners Only) Enabled, Enabled Not Present, or Disabled.
Minimum Grayboxes - Enabled or Disabled.
Timing Mark Height/Width Checking - Enabled or Disabled.
OMR/Merge Horizontal Adjustment (For Image Scanners Only)
Form ID Adjust Timing Mark 1 - Enabled or Disabled.

Length for Thickness Measurement - A numeric sheet length (e.g., 8.5 inch Sheet) depending on the option selected in the dialog box.

Scanning Read Characteristics - This lists the settings currently defined in the application Read Controls dialog box.

Mark threshold - Light, Normal, Dark, or a numeric value, 3 - 10.
Discrimination margin - Low, Medium, High or a numeric value, 3 - 15.
For Mark threshold and Discrimination margin, the values listed here may be different than the values listed under Default Application Context, Scanning Options, Bubble read controls (below). This is because if Application Read Level Control is Keyword or Absolute, the scanning operator may change the values to be different from the application definition, by using the Scanning Options at scanning time.

Streak Protection - xx%, percentage calculated from slider control. The highest percentage allowed for this is 90, not 100. 0% (zero) means both Streak Protection and OMR Protection are turned off. OMR Protection does not have it's own control. OMR Protection is on when Streak Protection is greater than zero; when OMR Protection is on, it uses an internally-controlled value that you cannot set.
Overall Protection - xx%, percentage calculated from slider control. 0% (zero) means it is turned off.
Skip Timing Track - Yes or No.
Perform OMR Dark Check - Yes or No.
This lists the settings defined from the Defaults dialog box. These values are used when the application is first selected after it has been installed in the ScanTools Main Window, and also when you make an application disk, Make Application Disk dialog box.
