Form ID Matching dialog

In the ScanTools application module window, you select which method of form ID matching is used at scanning time by selecting Form ID Matching from the Options menu. You receive the Form ID Matching dialog box with the choices listed below. This setting affects all sheets in all documents in this application. Eac h setting describes the rules used at scanning time in order for each sheet to be properly identified so that scanning can proceed.

Normal

• Every form ID mark defined in the application must be present on the sheet.
• Any extra form ID marks on the sheet will be ignored.

NOTE: This is the recommended setting unless you have a specific situation that requires Enhanced or Exact.

Enhanced

Use Enhanced when you have a narrow sheet (less than 8.5 inches wide) that has form ID marks that are a subset of those on a wider sheet, in the same application. This allows ScanTools to differentiate between the two forms. The example shows this situation.

• Every form ID mark defined in the application must be present on the sheet.
• Any extra form ID marks on the sheet will be ignored.

Exact

• All sheets scanned using this application must be full width (at least 8.5 inches wide); narrow sheets are not allowed.
• There must be at least one timing mark defined on the top side of the sheet.
• Every form ID mark defined in the application must be present on the sheet.
• Any extra form ID marks on timing mark one on the front side of the sheet, are not allowed.
• For EZData Scanners Only: Exact match may be used with the EZData scanner even though forms are always less than 8.5 inches wide (as scanned).
