Use this dialog to build an index for your archived images. It appears when you select Edit in the Index Format String area of the Define Index dialog.
The format string you build can be a maximum of 100 characters.
The index is optional.
The format strings you create are listed here. Click on a format string to select it. Double click on a format string to edit it. The components of the format string are assembled in the order listed. You can control the order with the Add Above, Add Below, and Remove buttons.
Use the Add Above button to add a format string above the currently selected format string.
Use the Add Below button to add a format string below the currently selected format string.
Use the Remove button to remove the currently selected format string.
Use the Edit button to open the dialog for the currently selected format string so that you can edit it.
There are 15 different sources of variable information from the application and from data generated by the application during scanning that you can use to build your index format string. Any number of these can be used in any order desired. When selected, a dialog will be displayed for each where you can control the specific information you want to include in your format string. This includes:
The format string can include data from a field in your application. You can specify the entire field or any portion of the field to be included in the string.
The fields available for this purpose are those that are in the same location in all record formats, are of the same field length, and have the same field name for the documents from which iNAME image archiving is taking clips. If a field does not meet this requirement, it cannot be used. Field names are case sensitive. For example: "NAME" and "name" are unique field names.
The format string can include any literal string.
The format string can include all or part of the ScanTools data file name. Optionally, the application user can be presented with a verification prompt question that you can specify.
The format string can include information entered by the application user. If desired, you can present the user with a prompt for this information.
The format string can include the ScanTools run number. You can include the entire number or a portion of it.
The format string can include the ScanTools batch number. You can include the entire number or a portion of it.
The format string can include the ScanTools starting serial number. You can include the entire number or a portion of it.
The format string can include the Julian date and time from the system the application is running on. You can include the entire date and time or a portion of it. The date and time used for the index is that of the first document scanned.
The format string can include the ScanTools application number. You can include the entire number or a portion of it.
The format string can include the ScanTools application name. You can include the entire name or a portion of it.
Document’s ScanTools Serial Number is a required component of the format string. You can include the entire number or a portion of it.
The format string can include the ScanTools booklet sheet number. You can include the entire sheet number or a portion of it.
The format string can include the ScanTools document name. You can include the entire name or a portion of it.
The format string can include the ScanTools document number. You can include the entire number or a portion of it.
The format string can include data from any field in your application, with translation to a string of your definition.
This area shows you the index length specified and the total length available.
