Enter User Entered Format To Be Used In The Item
for Image Scanner Implementation Only

This dialog enables you to define a prompt that will be presented to the application user, asking them to enter some information that will then become part of a directory, filename, or index format string. It appears when you select User Entered Data in one of the Build Format String dialogs. The prompt you define here appears to the application user in the Enter User Entered Data dialog.

For example, the prompt presented to the application user might be "Please enter the day of the week."

Prompt Presented to User

Enter a prompt for the application user that will follow the text "Please enter the".

For example, entering "day of the week" or "department name" would result in application user prompts of "Please enter the day of the week" or "Please enter the department name" respectively to be displayed in the Enter User Entered Data dialog.

Ask For Verification of Entered Data

When you check this, the application user will be asked if the information they entered is correct. For example:

The following data was entered for day of the week.

Monday

Is this correct?

The application user can then select Yes to accept the data they entered or select No to re-enter the data.

Exceptions

The following data was entered for day of the week.

Is this correct?

The application user can then select Yes to leave the data area blank or select No to re-enter the data.

Min. Input Required

This is the minimum number of characters the application user must enter.

Max. Input Required

This is the maximum number of characters the application user can enter.

Characters Used = __ of __ Available

The number of characters you select in this dialog appear, followed by the number of remaining characters you can enter in the entire format string.
