OMR Tool dialog

Use the OMR Tool to define how marks on a sheet are to be interpreted as data. You do this by creating and/or selecting a grid, and then setting the characteristics of the grid using the OMR Tool.

To select an existing grid: Move the mouse pointer to an area inside the grid and click once. If you want to make changes to the grid, you must use the Edit Selected Grid button, see description later in this topic.

To select an area for a new grid:Move the mouse pointer to a corner of the grid, hold the mouse button down, and drag the pointer to the opposite corner of the grid. A box appears showing you the border of the grid. More info...

For Image Scanner Implementation Only

ScanTools provides an image clip region for each grid. When you create a grid, the image clip area is identical in size to the grid.

To define an image clip region different in size or shape than the OMR grid: First, select the existing grid. While pressing the CTRL key, move the mouse pointer to a corner of the desired clip region, hold the left mouse button down, and drag the pointer to the opposite corner of the desired clip region. When you release the left mouse button, a box appears showing you the border of the defined clip region. For a linked grid, the default clip region is around the last grid defined. After the last linked grid is defined, create the clip region you want using the same CTRL key, and mouse movement sequence described above. Next, use the Append button to append the grid to the output field.

NOTE: For OpScan iNSIGHT 2/4 scanners: Image clips will not be taken on a side for which imaging is disabled. If image clips are desired, ensure the appropriate Enable Image option is selected on the Application Settings dialog.
