From the ScanTools main window file bar, select the Score profile you want to view. Then select Score, View to view the score profile selected. You see the View Score Profile dialog. You can now view, print, and search the information in the score profile, but NOT change it. If you want to change a profile, you must use the Score, Open selection. See Opening a Score Profile for more information.
When first displayed, information in the profile is often in a condensed format. Move the mouse cursor to the application and document title lines, and press the left mouse button to receive a menu popup where you can show or hide details of the profile. For more information see:
Score Profile - Application popup
Score Profile - Document popup
This area shows the name of the profile you selected for viewing. It matches the name on the title bar of the dialog.
This area shows the name of the application associated with the profile. When you move the mouse cursor over the application name, the cursor changes to a magnifying glass. While the magnifying glass appears, press the left mouse button to receive the Score Profile - Application popup where you can hide or show details for all documents and all subtests associated with this profile.
The following information is always displayed about the score profile. This data was established when the profile was created, and cannot be changed while viewing.
This option tells you how the key data is accessed for scoring. Keys scanned online means you will scan the key data at scanning runtime.
Keys stored in profile means that the keys were scanned separately before the tests, the key data was stored in a data file, and then included in the score profile. This selection can be used for both online scoring, and post-scan scoring.
This selection was made from the Key Data dialog when the profile was created.
This option is valid only if Keys scanned online was selected in the Key Data dialog.
Apply edits means that the key sheets will be edited during scanning, along with the other sheets. Do not apply edits means you will not be able to edit the key sheets during scanning.
This option applies only if Online Scoring is performed during Scanning. This tells you if the key data is stored in the output data file when the document is scored during scanning. Never store means the key data will not be stored in the output file. Always store means the key data will be stored in the output data file as the first record(s) in the batch. Store in new data files, not when appending means the key data is only written to the output file if the file did NOT exist prior to this scanning run.
This selection was made from the Store Keys/Append dialog when the profile was created.
This option tells you which scores will be printed on the document. This option is valid only if you have a transport printer and the documents are scored during scanning.
This option selection was made from the Print Scores dialog when the profile was created.
This option tells you whether or not the score data is written into the output file in the same format used by sheet compile. OFF stores the score data first, followed by a blank space. ON stores a blank space first, then the score.
This area shows the name and number of the document, and whether or not subtests are defined. The plus or minus (+ -) sign indicates what action you can choose to see the details under the document. Plus sign (+) means you can show the details, minus sign (-) means you can hide them.
When you move the mouse cursor over the +/-Document: area and receive the magnifying glass cursor, you can press the left mouse button to change the display. When you move the mouse cursor over the actual name of the document and receive the magnifying glass cursor, you can press the left mouse button to receive the Document popup where you can hide or show details for this document and all subtests for it.
The details that can be displayed for the Document are:
This option tells you which field in the output record contains the total score. A field must be fixed length and at least 5 bytes long to contain a total score. If a field is not defined, "none" appears. You must define the field when creating the application, see Output Field Entry dialog.
This selection was made from the Total Score dialog when the profile was created.
If subtests are defined, the name of each subtest appears. Subtests were created from the Document popup, Add subtest selection when the profile was created. At least one subtest appears.
This area shows the name of the subtest. The plus or minus (+ -) sign indicates what action you can choose to see the details under the subtest. Plus sign (+) means you can show the details, minus sign (-) means you can hide them.
When you move the mouse cursor over the +/-Subtest: area and receive the magnifying glass cursor, you can press the left mouse button to change the display. When you move the mouse cursor over the actual name of the subtest and receive the magnifying glass cursor, you can press the left mouse button to receive the Subtest popup where you can hide or show details for this subtest.
The details that can be displayed for the Subtest are:
This area tells you whether or not formula scoring is used. If formula scoring is used, the number used for the Scoring Factor appears. This number calculates how many points to deduct for each wrong answer in this subtest. See the Scoring Factor dialog for a description of how this number is used in the scoring formula.
This selection was made from the Scoring Factor dialog when the profile was created.
This line appears only if a Scoring Factor is defined above. It tells you if fractional scores are rounded or truncated. If scores are rounded, rounding is performed to the nearest whole integer using the following criteria:
.000001 to .499999 is rounded DOWN
.5 to .999999 is rounded UP
If scores are truncated, all fractional scores are truncated to zero. For example, both 3.2 and 3.9 become 3.0.
This selection was made from the Scoring Factor dialog when the profile was created.
This area tells you whether or not translations are defined for this subtest. When translations are defined, you will see a list that gives the length in number of characters, either 1 or 2. The From and To lists define the correct response character and which character will be substituted in the output record. A From entry without a To character displayed means a blank space is defined as the To character.
This selection was made from the Translate dialog when the profile was created.
This tells you which field contains the subtest score. A field must be fixed length and at least 4 bytes long in order to contain a subtest score. If a field is not defined, "none" appears. You must define the field when creating the application, see Output Field Entry dialog.
This selection was made from the Subtest Score dialog when the profile was created.
If Keys stored in profile is selected in the Key Data dialog, the actual key data appears after the Store subtest score in field area. All output fields defined for the document appear, both the field name and associated data appear.
