Font |
Select the font family name. The choices are based on your Windows font catalog. All OpenType, TrueType, Adobe Type 1, and screen font families installed on your system are displayed here. If you want to change this list, use the Fonts option in the Windows Control Panel. ![]() A symbol beside the font name indicates whether it is an OpenType, TrueType, or Adobe Type 1 font format. If no symbol is present, it is probably a screen font.
Select OpenType and TrueType fonts for files to be printed at Scantron Print Services or for laser printing. Select Adobe Type 1 fonts only for laser printing. An example of the font you selected is shown in the Sample area. |

Font Style |
Select the font style. The styles available are font dependent. Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic are the typical choices. NOTE: While the Font choices listed most accurately represent font families, the combination of Font and Font style represents the Font files on your system. After you have selected Font and Font style, a description below the Sample area will indicate the actual font format selected: OpenType, TrueType, Adobe Type 1, or screen font. OpenType and TrueType fonts must be used for files to be printed at Scantron. |

Size |
Select the font size. The unit of measurement is points. CAUTION: When you change font size for a Text box, line spacing does not change automatically; you must set it independently. If you use a larger font size, you may see the text lines partially, or even completely, obscured when the font size is larger than the line spacing (for example, 36 point font size with 1/6 inch (12 point) line spacing). When this occurs, first deselect the text box to view the overlapping text lines; then, reselect the text to adjust the font size, line spacing, or both. This does not apply to caption text. See Modify Paragraph dialog. |

Effects |
Select the special effects of color, screen, and underlining. |

Color |
Select the color for the text font. You can change the color of the font by selecting a different color from the list. The list is based on the colors currently defined in the Scantron DesignExpert document color palette. You can change the color palette from the Change Colors dialog. Another convenient way of changing the font color is to use the Color Palette. This can be used for both text and caption text. CAUTION: If you are working in a document that was created in a Scantron DesignExpert version earlier than 4.0, the color of the text characters appearing in 4.0 and later versions may not match the color from the earlier version. You need to check the color and change it if necessary. |

Screen |
Select the shading of the color, from 100% to 10%, in 10% increments (plus 15%). |
||||||||||||
Underline |
Select this option to print a line under the text. |
