CAUTION: Some colors that you may have used previously on other forms may be marked as discontinued. These colors are no longer supported by Scantron Print Services. If you will be using Scantron Print Services to print your form, do not use any color marked as discontinued.
TIP: Due to the use of a different light source (white versus red or infrared), the iNSIGHT 20/20 Plus and iNSIGHT 30 scanners use a different set of form colors than other Scantron scanners. See Color Options for Data Collection Forms or Appendix A of the appropriate scanner's Operator's Guide or the appropriate color book (if available) for a list of form colors approved for use with these scanners.

Selected Colors |
View a list of which colors are currently available for use in your design. Black and White (opaque) are required colors and cannot be substituted or deleted. You can have a maximum of seven colors (including black and white) for single-sided documents; nine colors (including black and white) for double-sided documents. You can change the colors on this list, other than black and white, by using Add, Substitute and Delete; see the descriptions below. NOTE: If you are using the iNSIGHT 20/20 Plus or iNSIGHT 30 scanners, highlight colors are not available for these scanners.

Dropout Colors |
View a list of selections available for adding to or substituting from the Selected Colors list. Dropout colors are colors that are not visible to the scanner. Your document must have at least one dropout color defined. |
Highlight Colors |
View a list of selections available for adding to or substituting from the Selected Colors list. Highlight colors include both dropout and non-dropout colors. |
Highlight Color Model |
Choose which set of highlight colors is used in the Highlight Colors list. The options are DesignExpert Colors and PANTONE Solid Colors. Both types of highlight colors can be used in the same form design. |
Add |
Add a dropout or highlight color to the Selected Colors list.
The color you added appears on the Selected Colors list. Once you have the maximum number of colors on the Selected Colors list, you receive a message stating you cannot add more colors. At that time you can change colors using Substitute, or delete a color using Delete. |
Substitute |
Substitute a different dropout or highlight color for a color currently on the Selected Colors list.
The color from the Dropout or Highlight list replaces the color on the Selected list. The color palette is updated to show the new color selection and all shapes using the original color are automatically changed to the new color. CAUTION: The substitute feature also replaces the color used in previously placed graphics and shapes, both in the Dropout and Highlight colors areas. |
Delete |
Delete a color from the Selected Colors list, with the exception of Black and White which are required colors.
The color is removed from the Selected Colors list. If the document contains shapes that are using the color you have selected to delete, a warning message appears telling you that all shapes using the color will be deleted. CAUTION: All shapes using this color will be deleted! If you cancel the delete, you can change the color of shapes with the Substitute button, or modify the shape’s colors using the options dialog appropriate for the shape. |
