Conversion, Edit, and Scanning Options Settings Rules

The Conversion Options, Edit Options, and Scanning Options dialogs can each be selected from both the ScanToolsMain Window and the ScanToolsApplication Module. The software is set up this way so that you can conveniently…

Set default Conversion, Edit, and Scanning options in the Application Module during application definition, and/or
Either use default Conversion, Edit, and Scanning options settings, or choose to modify the settings for the scanning, edit, or conversion operation at hand, in the Main Window at or before beginning the operation.

The rules for handling these settings are as follows:

Rules for New Applications

All values set as Defaults in the Application Module during creation of a new application are set in the main window after the application is released to scanning.

Rules for Existing Applications

All values changed in the Main Window are saved independently for each application. The change does not update the values in the Application Module.
All values changed in the Application Module are saved independently for each application. The change updates the values in the Main Window only if the Update current application context check box is checked in the Defaults dialog - Application definition dialog.

NOTE: Options currently set as Defaults in the application module are always used when making an application diskette.

Data and output conversion file handling

Edit profile selection
Output Conversion profile selection and output file selection
Read Parameters - Mark Threshold and Discrimination Margin
Score Profile Selection
