HardwareConfig.HasSelectStacker property

Read-only property.

Type: Boolean.

Used to indicate if a scanner has a Select Stacker installed.

The value is valid only if the scanner has been auto-configured using ScanningManager.AutoConfigureScanner method, and Scanner.State = L_SCANNER_STATE_AUTOCONFIGURED.

The EZData scanner has the select stacker built in; this property is always True.

The OpScan 3/4/4U scanners do not report the presence of a select stacker. In the absence of any information from the scanner, AutoConfigureScanner assumes that a select stacker is always present and sets the read-only property HardwareConfig.HasSelectStacker to TRUE. It is important to determine whether or not the scanner really has a select stacker, and configure the software accordingly.

If you do not have prior knowledge of the scanner, you must query the user to obtain this information. Update HardwareConfig.DisableSelectStacker property to TRUE if there is not a select stacker, otherwise to FALSE if it does. If needed, alter any other HardwareConfig properties, and then call ScanningManager.ConfigureScanner method with the modified HardwareConfig object to update the configuration in ScanTools Plus software.

ScanTools Plus software has a built-in safety feature that will cause it to ignore your appdef's setting for "Stop On System Error" and always halt on an unknown form whenever the scanner does not have a select stacker. If ScanTools Plus's knowledge of your scanner configuration is incorrect and it is told to expect a select stacker when there is not one, this safety measure in ScanTools is turned off and may result in unrecognized sheets being ignored.
