Converting Data Files to Other Formats

Conversion profiles can be used in two ways:

Online Conversion - you can select a conversion profile to convert data during scanning and automatically create another data file in a different format.
Post-Scan Conversion - after scanning, you can select a conversion profile to convert an existing ScanTools data file into a different format. Another reason to perform post-scan conversion is to create a new file in which some records are deleted. See Deleting Records from a Data File.

Post-Scan Converting

To convert an existing data file, use the following steps:

Select the application that is associated with the data file.
Check the currently defined Conversion Options to see how you select the conversion profile and data file to be used for converting. There are also other parameters to check in the conversion options.
Select the data file you want to convert.
Select the conversion profile you want to use.
Start the conversion cycle. Click the Convert button on the action bar, select Convert from the Actions menu, or press the F6 function key.
