In the Archive Indices dialog, you can select which fields in the currently selected document to use as archive indices for archive image clips taken for that document. Information about the field is written as an entry in the archive index file as part of the post-scan archiving process. For details on the format of an archive index file, see Archive Index Files.
NOTE: Image functions such as Archiving can be defined in any ScanTools program. You can implement your application with OMR technology scanners and plan for future Image technology scanner use.
The list of currently defined fields for your document that are available for use as archive indices. The fields are listed in the same order as in your application. Select one or more fields from this list to use as archive indices.

Click the right arrow to move a field from the Fields list to the Indices list, to use as an archive index. You can move one field at a time. The field name is removed from the Fields list and placed in the Indices list.
Click the left arrow to move a field from the Indices list to the Fields list, to not use it as an archive index. You can move one field at a time. The field name is removed from the Indices list and placed in the Fields list.
To define fields to be used as an archive index field for post-scan archiving:
You can use keystroke and mouse shortcuts to make your selections in the Archive Indices dialog:
- Press Alt+F to move to the Fields list.
- Press Alt+I to move to the Indices list.
- Click on the first letter of a field to highlight (select) it.
- Use the arrow up or down key to navigate through the selected list.
