Post-Scan Image Archiving
for Image Scanner Implementation Only

For a description of ScanTools image archiving functions, see Image Archiving Overview.

If you have access to the ScanTools application definition, it may be desirable to make sure the appropriate items are defined in the application before you perform post-scan archiving. See Application Definition for Post-Scan Archiving.

Post-Scan Image Archiving Procedure

To perform image archiving after scanning:

  1. From the ScanTools Main Window, select the application that was used for scanning the documents. Archive parameters are maintained as part of the application.
  2. Check the currently defined Archive Options to see (or select) the data file to be used for archiving, the directory where the image files will be archived, and the index file format.
  3. If the data file has been moved since scanning, make sure that a .tif file with the same name as the data file is in the same location as the data file.
  4. Do one of the following:

If the background form image is not aligning completely with the individual grid clips, you can use the Paper Size setting in the Image Clips dialog to adjust the dimensions of the background image. Or, if your form has the required form ID mark and timing marks, you can use the OMR/Merge Horizontal Adjustment in the Application Settings dialog to improve the alignment of the background form image to the scanned image.

NOTE: We recommend that you do not re-archive data files if the application has been modified after scanning.
