How Master relates to user-defined document definitions

The Master table and Simple View of Master contain all records from all documents in the application, even if the document definitions do not share the same column structure.

Master document definition in single document applications

It is not necessary to use the Master document definition with a single document application because all the records share the same column structure.

Master document definition in multiple document applications

In multiple document applications, the documents (tables and simple views) do not necessarily share the same column structure.

The Master table (or Simple View of Master) enables you to iterate through all records in the data file regardless of column structure
