Using Restrictions on Schema Rowsets

The Scantron OLE DB Provider (Scantron.Oledb) exposes elements of the application definition and the edit profile via schema rowsets. Some of the schemas are industry standard while others are specific to ScanTools Plus Link. Typically, a schema will have one or more columns defined as restriction columns. The purpose of restriction columns is to filter the number of metadata rows returned by the provider when you query a schema rowset. A restriction is a specific value of a column. When a restriction is used to query a schema rowset, all rows returned will match the restriction value on the specified column.

To query a schema rowset, you must provide a connection object, a string (or GUID) representing the schema rowset and a restriction object array. See OleDbSchemas Interface Summary.

Every schema rowset supported by the Scantron OLE DB Provider has two columns called TABLE_CATALOG and TABLE_SCHEMA. The value of these columns is the same for every row returned by the query.
