Edit Failures Table Definition

The following table is a list of all columns in the Edit Failures table. For more information, see Edit Failures Table Overview and Edit Profile Rowset.

A unique value used to identify the row. Used as a primary key in the table. This value is invariant for a given data file/edit profile combination.

Serial Number

Serial number of the document containing the edit failure.

Name of the document that corresponds to the serial number.

Name of the field being edited.

Sheet Number

Sheet number of the last sheet that contains data for this edit. For a single page document this will always be 1. In the case of a booklet edits can not be applied until the last sheet containing data for the edit has been scanned. The Sheet Number value is the first sheet on which the edit can be evaluated.

Ordinal value of the field within the record. The combination of Document Name and Column Ordinal uniquely identifies the field in the COLUMNS schema rowset to allow the meta data for the field to be retrieved.

Ordinal of the edit rule within the edit profile (specified in SessionInfo.EditProfile or connection string). The combination of Document Name and Edit Number uniquely identifies the edit in the EDIT_PROFILE schema rowset to allow the meta data for the edit rule to be retreived.

For item edits, the number of items in the edit that were omitted. Value will always be -1 if the edit is not an item edit.

A string that describes the edit failure. (This is what one would see in the ScanTools Plus Edit Failures dialog.)

It is the data value of the field (or part thereof) that has the error. This is always a string type even if the field is a date or other type. A change to this column will be propagated to the data file.
