Clips Table Definition

The following table is a definition of all columns in the Clips table. It contains information about each clip in the master TIFF file. If phantom clips were not created during scanning, there will be no entries for phantom clips in this table. To not create phantom clips, the solution program can set SessionInfo.TakePhantomClips = False.

A unique value used to identify the row. Used as a primary key in the table. This value is invariant for a given data file.

The ID of the clip as defined in the Clips schema rowset.

ChildID

The ID of a phantom clip. If set to 0, the clip is not a phantom.

Serial Number

The serial number of the document from which the clip was taken.

Document Name

(DBTYPE_STR)

The name of the document from which the clip was taken.

Field Name

The name of the field which called for the clip.

Archive

(DBTYPE_BOOL)

True if the clip is an archive clip, false otherwise.

Sheet

(DBTYPE_I4)

Number of the sheet within the document that contains the clip. Sheet numbers start at 1.

Side

Side of the sheet that contains the clip: 0 for top, 1 for bottom.

DataFieldStart

In the case of multiple clips for field, this value defines which portion of the field is covered by the clip. Zero based. Useful with bouncing ball editing.

DataFieldLength

The number of bytes of the data field covered by the clip. Useful with bouncing ball editing.

ClipOrdinal

Index of the corresponding entry in the Clips schema rowset.

XResolution

Horizontal resolution of the clip in pixels per inch.

YResolution

Horizontal position of the clip in thousandths of an inch from the left edge.

YPos

Horizontal size of the clip in thousandths of an inch.

Number of bytes needed to store the clip.

(DBTYPE_BYTES)
