SessionInfo.TakePhantomClips property

Read-Write Property.

Type: Boolean

For Image Scanners Only - 5000i and iNSIGHT scanners.

These are the only scanners that produce phantom clips and store them in the ScanTools master TIFF file.

Phantom clips are taken to allow the ScanTools post-scan data editor to highlight the row or column in a grid that is failing edit. Phantom clips do not contain any data and most commercially available TIFF readers will report a phantom clip as an error in the master TIFF file.

When set to TRUE, ScanTools Plus will create phantom clips in the master TIFF file while scanning. Creating phantom clips also requires an edit profile specified in SessionInfo.EditProfile property. The phantom clips can be accessed through the Clips Table.

When set to FALSE, no phantom clips are created, making the master TIFF file smaller. However, even though no phantom clips are actually created, the CLIPS Rowset in Data Services reports metadata for all potential phantom clips.

This property is the same as the setting in the ScanTools Plus Diagnostics Menu, Advanced Configuration dialog, Take phantom clips check box.
