Migrating Document Types

Sometimes you may need to migrate a Scantron DesignExpert form design from one document type to another. For example, you may need to change an OMR with PrintFlex Document to an OMR Document because you were printing small quantities on your laser printer and you now want to print large quantities on an offset printing press at Scantron Print Services.

When you migrate from one document type to another, you may need to rework your form design and/or your ScanTools application. For example, you may need to update colors and screen percentages for some design elements so they are not scanner readable. And, you may need to raise the read threshold in your ScanTools software application so that too dark laser printing in other areas is ignored. Graphics Considerations

We do not recommend copying graphics from one document to another. Instead, use the Graphics tool to create new graphics placeholders and then link them to the appropriate graphics files.
