psPrompt

Pointer to a string containing the edit error prompt. Must be the pointer passed into the field entry or field exit user exit point to insure that changes made by this functionto this string are properly passed back to ScanTools.

fSkipField

Pointer to a Boolean value containing the state of the fSkipField variable from the edit field entry user exit point. When called from field entry exit point, this value must be the final one returned to ScanTools to insure this function properly signals or doesn’t signal ScanTools. When called from the edit field exit user exit point, this value should always be set to TRUE.

FALSE - If ScanTools will not be signaled because this routine was called from the field entry user exit point with the fSkipField Value set to FALSE.

TRUE - If ScanTools has been signaled to use the user exit data to update the data record

CAUTION: The sample routine shown above uses the Edit Error Prompt string by placing a special character in the first character of this string. ScanTools software will strip out this character after it has used it as a signal to carry out the desired function. This Edit Error Prompt String should not be modified in the user exit after this function has been called.
