Preferences Dialog Box

Allows you to personalize your ScanTools experience. You can control the appearance of options dialogs, warnings that appear and the look of the user interface. After you make your selections, they remain set until changed.


Display the options dialog box before:	Scanning: When checked, the Scanning Options dialog box shows when you initiate a scan operation. Editing: When checked, the Edit Options dialog box shows when you initiate an edit operation. Converting: When checked, the Conversion Options dialog box shows when you initiate a convert operation. Archiving: When checked, the Archive Options dialog box shows when you initiate an archive operation.
Display a confirmation dialog when:	When any of the boxes in this group are checked, ScanTools shows a confirmation dialog box before completing the action. Huge Deletes ScanTools considers the following items to be huge deletes. Application Definition Using the Document Delete dialog to delete a defined document. Using the Translate Tool dialog to delete a translate table. Edit Profile Deleting all field edits in an application using the Delete Field Edits entry in the application popup. Score Profile Deleting all subtests in an application or a single document using the Delete All Subtests entry in the application or document popup Scoring Attempting to score a data file that has previously been scored. Major Deletes ScanTools considers the following items to be major deletes. Application Definition Selecting a new or another application with the existing application still being worked on with unsaved changes that will be deleted. Selecting a new or another document with an existing document still being worked on with unsaved changes that will be deleted. Saving an application that is not complete enough to scan (e.g. no output record defined for a document) Using the Translate Tool dialog to delete a translate table entry. Removing all existing grids on a document because you are scanning in a new sheet by clicking the Scan Sheet button on the Select Document dialog. Deleting a defined sheet by spinning down the number of sheets on the Document dialog. Inserting, deleting, or moving a sheet in the Document dialog. Canceling the Document dialog after making changes to the document Canceling the Stacker dialog after making changes in the dialog. Canceling the Form ID Matching dialog after making changes in the dialog. Deleting an output format in the Delete Output Format dialog. Canceling the creation of a new translate table after it has been partially defined. Edit Profile Deleting all field edits in a single document using the Delete Field Edits entry in the document popup. Score Profile If you choose to scan keys online rather than store the keys in the profile and a set of keys presently exists in the profile. If you are replacing the keys stored in the profile with a different set of keys. Deleting a single subtest Replacing a translation in a subtest by copying from a different subtest. Minor Deletes ScanTools considers the following items to be minor deletes. Application Definition Attempting to paste a grid too large for the sheet it is being pasted on Deleting a Form ID mark in the Document dialog Deleting a Skew Mark in the Document dialog Defining a document with no Form ID marks Attempting to define a grid with no entries in the translate table Deleting or cutting a field Adding a background form image whose size differs from the paper size specified on the Image Clips dialog Deleting a field Cutting a grid Updating the paper size to match a new background image file’s dimensions Edit Profile Deleting a defined edit Score Profile Canceling any of the dialogs used to create a score profile after you have made any changes within the dialog. Replacing keys stored for a subtest in a document Error Log Resetting the error counts to 0 Scanning with iNAME • Deleting files from an existing image output folder. • Overwriting the image index file.
Display a warning when the loaded application is newer than any of it's associated profiles	When checked, a warning appears indicating that the application was updated because the profile was created when you open or use the profile.
UI Theme	Select a user interface (UI) theme for ScanTools. The themes change the colors and the look of the controls. Themes do not change the functionality of the controls.
