When you modify an application after profiles are created and associated with it, the profile is no longer valid with the application. If you use an existing profile with an application that you have modified, you receive a warning message asking you if you want to continue.
The best procedure is to create and save your application, then create the profiles after the application requires no more changes. If you must modify your application after profiles are created, you should create a new profile to be used with the newest version of the application.
Changing these items in an application causes the need for a new profile:
Modifying the name, attributes, length, or other items in the Output Field Entry dialog box also requires the creation of a new profile.
If you make any of the following changes to an application, you do not need to re-create the edit profile. Instead you can open the existing edit profile, make any necessary changes, save, and close the profile.
