The output palette shows the fields and grids defined for the current document. It also allows you to create new fields and append, delete, cut, copy, and paste grids.
When you select a grid in the grid definition area, the associated field and grid is selected in the Output Palette and vice versa.

Fields |
View the names of the output fields in this document. When a name is highlighted, the corresponding grid in the grid definition area is also highlighted. Also, the width and range of expected characters is shown in the grid detail area. An asterisk ( * ) appears after a field name after the field is created, but no grid is assigned to it. Use the Append button to assign a grid to the field. |
Grids | View a list of the grids that are placed in the current document. The length of the grid is shown next to the type. |
New | Append a new output field to the document definition. The Output Field Entry dialog box appears. |
Append | Append the grid defined in the grid definition area to the field position area. |
Delete | Delete the output field highlighted in the field name area and grid detail area. |
Cut | Cut the grid defined in the Grid Definition area and send it to the Windows clipboard. The grid definition is removed from the area. |
Copy | Copy the grid defined in the grid definition area to the Windows clipboard and leaves the original in the window. |
Paste | Paste the grid definition stored in the Windows clipboard to an arbitrary spot on the grid definition area. From that spot, you can move it to any location on the sheet. |
