Download Command File Translation Results/Errors

When a command file is downloaded to the scanner, the scanner translates it.

If the command file was translated successfully, the scanner responds with the character G followed by a string of four decimal numbers, indicating the number of statements processed. Example:

G0059

If an error occurs during the translation process, the scanner responds with an error code, and the number of the statement containing the error. Download Translate error codes and their meanings are listed below. You must correct the error, then re-generate the command file, and then download it again.

L

Limit error. An implementation defined limit was exceeded during translation of the command. For example, too many documents, too many sheets, output record length too long, etc.

M

Out of Memory error. The scanner’s application memory was exhausted during translation of the command file. Either modify the command file to reduce the size of the application, or delete one or more stored applications, and try again.

O

Order error. The command was not expected at this point in the file. For example, a SHT command was encountered before a DOC command, or an END command was encountered when the last grid specified a linked edit.

P

Parameter error. A parameter is missing, too long, contains an invalid character, or has an illegal value.

S

Syntax error. The statement is improperly formatted. For example, the keyword is not three alphabetic characters, a required parameter is missing, or an invalid parameter separator or statement terminator is used.

U

Unknown command keyword error. The command keyword (name) was misspelled.

V

Validation error. The information stored in the scanner’s application memory is corrupt. All stored applications are lost and must be downloaded and translated again. This error is also reported when all applications are intentionally deleted by the user.
