Clip Definition - ScanTools Plus Application

The ScanTools Plus application definition allows you to define sheet-level and grid-level clips on a sheet-by-sheet basis. The clips captured by ScanTools Plus during scanning consist of the raw pixels as the paper went through scanner. These clips have no rotation and no background form image combined. This method was originally designed to be used by ScanTools Plus software for viewing later, during editing or image archiving. ScanTools Plus software captures clips only if they are defined in one of these ways:

Using ScanTools Plus Link Data Services, the clip definitions from the ScanTools Plus application definition can be viewed from the CLIPS Rowset.

Using only the ScanTools Plus application definition method, the clips are stored in a ScanTools Plus proprietary master TIFF file. The master TIFF file represents the image output of a scanning session. This is a TIFF file of the same name as data file, and can be opened only by ScanTools Plus and the ScanTools Plus Link Data Service provider. An example of this method is in the sample Scanning Utility provided with ScanTools Plus Link SDK, the actual clips are accessed from the Master Table view and are shown in the right-hand window of the Scanning Utility screen. Select a field number under the clip window, the corresponding clip will be displayed in the clip window. Notice that these clips have no background and are not rotated.
