Designing data collection forms for ScanFlex
Follow these "Rules" to design forms that
are ideal for ScanTools Plus with ScanFlex processing. The checklist is
followed by a graphic where you can click on each feature to see how the
rules are applied. Links to additional information are also provided.

The timing track area is defined as being between the guide edge of the form, the edge of the timing track farthest from the guide edge, the leading edge of the form, and the trailing edge of the form (see graphic following).

If you include this form ID mark, you can use the OMR/Merge Horizontal Adjustment in your ScanTools Plus with ScanFlex application. This enables ScanFlex to adapt to variations in your form’s OMR response spacing of +/- 1/16 of an inch across the width of your form, during scanning.
You can use ScantronDesignExpert software with the optional PrintFlex module to design and print data collection forms for ScanTools Plus with ScanFlex. This Scantronproduct has built-in tools and wizards for timing mark, form ID mark, and skew mark selection and for drawing OMR response grids. When your design is complete, it can print directly to plain paper on your PostScript laser printer.
