Data File Editor Sample

This sample can perform the following operations:

• Build a connection string and open a connection with the Scantron OLE DB Provider (Scantron.Oledb).
• Get a list of all scanned documents in a data file using the Master View.
• Extract Serial Number, Document Number, RAW, and ROWID for each document.
• Select documents in a data file using various filters (edit status of pass, edit status of fail, etc.)
• Use Schema information to determine document name from number, field attributes, edit rules for a field, edit rules for a document, etc.
• Obtain a detailed view of a document.
• Obtain the output record for a document as an ASCII string.
• Obtain the output record for a document as a collection of fields, including name, value, and data type for each field.
• Obtain the archives indices for a document as a collection of archive indices, including name, value, and data type for each archive index.
• Obtain the archives clips for a document as TIFF images.
• Obtain a description of each archive clip.
• Obtain a list of all fields in a document.
• Select fields with edit failures and updateable fields.
• Evaluate edit failures for a field.
• Reevaluate edit failures for a document after some fields are altered.
• Save changes to fields in a document in a data table without updating the data file.
• Delete a document from the data file.
• Update a document in the data file.

You must have ScanTools Plus Link and Visual Studio .NET 2010 (or later) installed on your system.

1. Ensure the files are in the correct location. Navigate to the Samples folder (C:\Scanner\ScanTools Plus Link SDK\Code Samples\Data File Editor).
2. Double click on the Visual Studio Solution Data File Editor.sln, which is in the location listed above.
3. Compile the solution.
4. Run the sample application.
