SQL Best Practices

Specify only the required columns within the SQL statement to reduce the amount of data transferred.

Delimit any name that has embedded spaces or special characters within double quote characters. You may also use [ and ] to delimit names.

Each table has a corresponding view whose name is prefixed with "Simple View of ". The simple views will always use the string data type (except for Clips, which are always the binary data type). Use simple views if you are concerned about backward compatibility in future releases.

WARNING:Do not use the names of the NCS Header columns as names of fields in the Output Record Definition in the application definition. For a list of those names, see Master Table Definition

Do not use Master as the name of a document in the application definition.
