ClipReader.Read method

This method returns the IClip interface on the next clip object in the stream and null if there are no more clips. Once you obtain a clip object, you can display the clip or write to a file or query its meta data and so on. The clip object’s lifetime is independent from that of the ClipReader and can potentially outlive the ClipReader session.

Note: IClip returns a 1x1 image when the image data is not available. This can happen if your input stream has a clip without image (phantoms).

This method decompresses the image and thus is memory and CPU intensive.

IDL

HRESULT Read([out, retval] IClip** ppClip)

Return Value

IClip

Pointer to the IClip interface that represents the next clip in the stream.
