Clip.Parent property

Read-Only property.

For enhancing the editing of OMR regions, ScanTools Plus allows the ability to include phantom clips into the master TIFF file – see the Advanced Configuration dialog in ScanTools Plus. These clips represent fragments of grid clipped. In this context, the clip object for the entire grid is the Parent of the clip object for the grid fragment.

Displaying a grid fragment by itself is not very useful. Instead, display the Parent for this clip with the fragment highlighted. An easy way to identify whether a clip is a grid fragment is to test its Parent property. If it has one that is not null, it is a fragment.

This property applies to both modes of clipping supported in ScanTools Plus – sparse and whole-sheet clipping.

This property currently returns a NULL for any clip that is not a grid fragment (from the master TIFF file) – for example ad hoc clips from IClipHelper.

IDL

propget, HRESULT Parent([out, retval] IClip** pVal);

Values

Pointer to the clip object that represents the full grid that this phantom (fragment) clip came from.
