Installing an Application

Follow the steps in this procedure to install an application from a different location on your system or from other file storage media:

  1. Select Configure from the menu bar. The Configure list appears.
  2. Check the Paths option. This is the destination location, where the application and associated files will be installed. If this is not what you want, select the desired directories for the installation destination.
  3. Select Install Application from the Configure list. The Install Application dialog box appears.
  4. Ensure that the *.sds check box is selected. The List Files of Type box allows you to view all file names in the Files list of the types you want to have available to install. Since you are installing an application and all application files have .SDS extensions, you must check the *.sds check box to see the available applications.

NOTE: Install Application is the preferred tool when you are migrating to a new version of software. See Migrating Applications from Earlier Versions of Software and Make Application Disk.
