The Select Document to Import dialog box lets you choose the document that you want to import into the currently active application. You also choose the Document Number for the imported document. This dialog box appears after you select the application (.sds) that contains the document you wish to import.
There are two parameters in the dialog box.
Click the down arrow to display the drop-down menu containing the list of documents residing in the application from which you are importing. Select the document you want to import.
ScanTools assigns a document number to each document created in an application so that the software can internally keep track of the documents. All documents in an application are numbered consecutively according to when they were created in the application. This means that the first document created is assigned document number 1, the second document created is assigned document number 2, and so on. These numbers normally cannot be changed.
The Document Number in the Destination Application text box will display the next available number. You can type in a new document number or use the spin control at the side of the text box to change the document number to insert the number of the new imported document in the middle of the number list. Automatically, all document numbers equal to or greater than the inserted number are incremented by 1. Even in the Document Sequence dialog box, the document numbers are automatically updated.
Example: In the example below, you have assigned document number 3 to imported Document X. Documents C and D are automatically changed to document numbers 4 and 5.

When you are satisfied with the dialog box entries, click OK to record the changes. Otherwise, click Cancel to leave the dialog box without making any of the changes.
