ADO Example--Open an ADO connection to a DAT file

The connection string instructs ADO to use the Scantron OLE DB Provider as the underlying OLE DB data provider. The sample below shows a connection string that specifies the application, data file, image file, and edit profile (the image file and edit profile are not actually required by the sample code shown).

'*** Define the connection string

Dim cnstr As String

cnstr = cnstr & "Provider = OPLOLEDB6;"

cnstr = cnstr & "Data File = c:\program files\pearson ncs\scantools plus\data files\802 sample.dat;"

cnstr = cnstr & "App File = c:\program files\pearson ncs\scantools plus\applications\z802 .sds .StxAppDef;"

cnstr = cnstr & "Image File = c:\program files\pearson ncs\scantools plus\data files\802 sample.tif;"

cnstr = cnstr & "Edit Profile = c:\program files\pearson ncs\scantools plus\profiles\802 .$ep StxEdtPrf;"

'*** Open Connection

Dim cn As New ADODB.Connection

cn.Open cnstr

NOTE: This open connection can be used to open subsequent recordsets.
